BUWOG has acquired a residential development project in Vienna’s 10th district. Construction work on Favio – comprising 281 apartments, commercial units and a local convenience store – is set to begin in autumn 2026. Sales are also scheduled to commence in autumn 2026.

Last year, BUWOG was one of the first real estate developers to get back into full swing in the area of project development, and it is continuing along this trajectory in 2026. At the start of the year, BUWOG Managing Director Andreas Holler stated: “Although both the political as well as economic conditions are (still) not ideal, we view it as our responsibility as a property developer to resume our construction activities on a large scale.” With the recent start of construction projects and this latest acquisition, BUWOG is reaffirming this strategy: “We are continually on the lookout for exciting properties and projects to counteract the impending housing shortage in urban centres. We are therefore delighted that we were able to acquire this attractive development opportunity on Laaer Berg in Favoriten, which enhances our portfolio and will soon offer future residents a new home,” Holler says.
