2020: launch of 11 new BUWOG projects in Vienna

  • BUWOG to develop around 1,800 apartments this year
  • Relocation to new customer and administrative centre

BUWOG Group GmbH is one of the most active private residential property developers in Austria and is set to more than live up to this reputation in 2020: in the current financial year, construction will begin on 11 new projects with a total of around 1,800 residential units. Around 380 additional apartments will be completed by the end of the year.

"The Viennese housing market continues to show a surplus in demand, which is why we consider it our objective to offset this tense situation by developing high-quality and, to a large extent, affordable housing", Andreas Holler, managing director of BUWOG Group GmbH, explains. "Our pipeline includes a number of first-rate development projects in top locations, which will provide us with an excellent basis for 2020 as well as for the years to come".

From the start of construction to completion

As many as 11 projects will be implemented before the end of 2020. Thus a large number of new apartments will be built in Vienna in the 2nd, 3rd, 10th, 11th, 14th, 19th, 21st and 23rd district – a total of 390 privately financed rentals, 297 rentals under the Vienna Housing Initiative and 1,116 privately financed condominiums. This mix ensures that the appropriate housing is available for every budget.

The "ERnteLAA" project on Meischlgasse and another component of the major "RIVUS" project – both in Vienna Liesing – will be completed in 2020, as will the project at Linke Wienzeile 280 in the 15th district. Another "completion highlight" is BUWOG's new customer and administration centre at Rathausstrasse 1: in May 2020 the approximately 300 employees will move to the new and centrally located location.

In 2019 there was hardly a stone left unturned: BUWOG completed 842 apartments in the scope of its development activities last year. That also included the "SeeSee Tower" project, which appeals to singles, couples and families with its direct location on the lake and high-quality fixtures and fittings. In addition to 105 privately financed rental apartments, "SeeSee Tower" not only offers a view over the Seepark quarter, but also extraordinary common areas for all residents. These include an urban courtyard on the ground floor, an urban loggia with a view of the lake floors 3 to 7, a common room with an equipped kitchen, a playground for children and young people and, in addition, an indoor playground with a climbing wall on the 8th floor and the See Lounge on the 12th floor.
