A landmark becomes visible: MARINA TOWER reaches its 25th floor

1/28/21
  • Shell for 25 of 41 floors is completed
  • More than 60% of the 511 apartments are already sold
  • Work on the interior has already begun
  • Overall project to be completed by summer 2022

Floor by floor, MARINA TOWER in Vienna's 2nd district is growing upward. In January 2021, BUWOG and IES Immobilien's joint project already comprised 25 floors, with more than half of the shell thus completed.  Parallel to this, the interior work on the residential tower also began recently, a significant step toward overall completion by summer of 2022.  And with respect to placement, the progress is also appreciable: around 320 of the total of 511 privately financed condominiums have already been sold.

Andreas Holler, managing director of MARINA TOWER Holding GmbH, is enthusiastic: "I'm incredibly proud of the entire team, which has delivered excellent services with a great deal of commitment and competence from the planning stage to the current construction phase. MARINA TOWER will soon be a part of the Viennese skyline and blend perfectly into the cityscape."

"With MARINA TOWER, we are developing a project that has also garnered international acclaim and already won the European Property Award several times. This is tremendous confirmation that we're not only developing state-of-the-art housing, but also advancing urban development for the long term," David Hofmann, also managing director of MARINA TOWER Holding GmbH, adds.

This is also a reference to the MARINA Deck, which is being developed at the same time as MARINA TOWER and will provide public access to the banks of the Danube as an extension over the Handelskai. The shell of the deck has already been completed, and the adjoining cable-stayed bridge extending across the Handelskai to the banks of the Danube has been installed and is already visible from afar.

Living between the skies and water

With its direct location on the right bank of the Danube, MARINA TOWER not only offers its future residents magnificent views of the water but also direct access to it via the MARINA Deck. Upon completion, it will offer extensive areas for gathering, unwinding and spending time. A café is also planned.

In MARINA TOWER itself, residents can expect a wide range of services: a medical centre,  pharmacy, kindergarten and a tobacconist are planned. Several facilities such as a local grocer and a fitness centre have already been agreed. Future residents will also enjoy a concierge service, a guest lounge with a terrace, a catering kitchen and a home cinema.

The project is also compelling due to its high quality of sustainability. The extensive environmentally compatible measures have already been recognised with awards from klimaaktiv and ÖGNI (the Austrian Sustainable Building Council). They range from certified product and chemical management to building greening and a sustainable mobility concept. Once the project is finished, residents will also benefit from the building's high level of energy efficiency and first-rate quality of the building materials and products used.
