BUWOG supports relief organisation “Wiener Tafel”

  • Contribution for financing the new food centre on Laxenburger Straße
  • Managing Director Valerija Karsai hands EUR 5000 over to Wiener Tafel Managing Director  Alexandra Gruber

“Wiener Tafel – the Association for Social Transfer”, one of the most important relief organisations for people in need in the federal capital, recently opened its food centre on Laxenburger Straße in the 23rd district. In the future, deliveries will be made from there to the numerous locations where people affected by poverty receive free food from Wiener Tafel. The new logistics centre will considerably expand the organisation's possibilities to provide relief.

After EUR 30,000 already went to the relief organisation at Christmas in 2020, BUWOG is supporting this important investment with another donation. Thus on the occasion of the official opening of the food centre, Managing Director Valerija Karsai handed EUR 5,000 over to Wiener Tafel Managing Director Alexandra Gruber. "We are pleased that with our donation we can contribute to Wiener Tafel’s ability to provide its important services for the city's poorest on an even broader basis in the future," Karsai explained. “The new centre will shape the Tafel's work for years to come, thus our donation will have a positive impact for an extended period of time.”

Support for Wiener Tafel is part of BUWOG’s extensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
