Housing for urban individualists: BUWOG hands project "LiWi280" over to new residents

The BUWOG project at Linke Wienzeile 280 in the 15th district of Vienna was recently completed with only a few weeks' delay due to corona. Together with district manager Gerhard Zatlokal on 23 June 2020 Andreas Holler, managing director of BUWOG Group GmbH, symbolically handed the key over to the tenants for their new home. Designed by the architectural firm Room8, the project comprises a total of 192 privately financed rental apartments and stands out due to its direct location on the U4 underground line and its proximity to Schönbrunn Palace with its extensive park.

"Individuality is the word that probably best describes the living area in the 15th district and it is exactly this personal freedom of design that we wanted to offer our project's tenants. The floor plans are designed for the most diverse living concepts, meaning singles, couples as well as small families can enjoy affordable housing with optimal transport connections", Andreas Holler says. "From single hipsters and single parents to couples into extreme sports – everyone will find the right home here".

More than a living room, kitchen and bedroom

The units of the apartment building are 30 sqm to 111 sqm with one to four rooms each. All units are equipped with an integrated kitchen, and private open spaces such as a loggia or terrace are an individual area for retreat. The optimal transport connections with the nearby U4 underground station "Schönbrunn" and the Wiental cycle path directly in front ensure sustainable mobility in urban areas. Drivers can park their cars in one of the 147 parking spaces in the building's own underground car park. A local supplier is located on the ground floor of the project, and other shops for daily needs are only a few minutes' walk away.
