Oase22+: topping-out for BUWOG project "Grünstück22"

The urban development area "Oase22+" is currently being built on the former Waagner-Biro grounds in the 22nd district. Six developers are involved, including BUWOG Group GmbH: with its "Grünstück22" project, a total of 84 privately financed rental apartments will be completed by summer of 2021. The topping out took place recently.

Exceptional circumstances require exceptional measures, however; thus due to corona the completion of the shell was not celebrated as part of a grand topping-out ceremony, rather in the scope of a small group.

Countryside housing idyll

BUWOG's new building project combines modern fixtures and fittings with an attractive green location while simultaneously offering excellent connections to the city centre. The 84 rental apartments have two to four rooms with a total floor area of between 53 sqm and 92 sqm.

With around 6,000 hectares of greenery, Donaustadt is Vienna's greenest district – from which future residents of "Grünstück22" will also benefit. Designed by the architectural firm schneider+schumacher, the project is located in the immediate vicinity of the Aupark, Hirschstetten Gardens, Alte Donau and Lobau National Park, and thus offers an exceptionally high recreational and leisure value outside the complex. Directly adjacent to the project is a public park with a playground for small children and plenty of seating options for playing and unwinding amidst the green environment. Each residential unit also has private outdoor space in the form of a loggia or terrace.

Grünstück22" is also convincing in terms of infrastructure: two supermarkets are just a few minutes' walk away. For larger purchases and entertainment, it is a short drive to the nearby Donauzentrum or Stadion Center. In terms of public transport, the project is optimally connected because of its proximity to stations of various bus lines as well as the Erzherzog-Karl-Straße train station. For drivers, 55 parking spaces are also available in the building's own underground car park.
