Residential housing campaign in autumn: BUWOG to begin constructing 879 apartments in Vienna


For BUWOG, autumn will be marked by the start of construction of nearly 900 residential units. In the "Kennedy Garden" project in Penzing, 274 condominiums and 238 rental apartments will be built, in "Schöneck 13" in Floridsdorf 65 condominiums and, with the 302 rentals at "RIVUS Vivere", the final component will be added to the large-scale project "RIVUS" in Liesing.

That BUWOG is one of the most active private residential property developers in Austria is once again evident in view of the vigorous construction activity in autumn. In addition to several projects already in progress such as the MARINA TOWER, Inside XIX and HELIO Tower, ground-breakings for further extraordinary projects are scheduled for this autumn. Their various locations in Vienna as well as the different target groups of the projects are an expression of the versatility of BUWOG's development programme. "With our construction launches in autumn, we remain entirely true to our mission of gearing our range of housing to the most diverse population groups. Demand on the Viennese housing market remains high, and by developing high-quality and largely affordable housing, we can counteract this tense situation," says Andreas Holler, managing director of BUWOG Group GmbH. While "Kennedy Garden" and "RIVUS" are developing entire quarters and urban development is being driven by modern residential complexes, "Schöneck 13" is a gem on the outskirts of the city designed with considerable attention to detail. They are all united by the approach of creating modern forms of housing that meet today's needs for urban living.

Garden living in the midst of the city

The construction of "Kennedy Garden" will begin in early September in the 14th district on Penzinger Strasse. A green garden area will span six architecturally distinct and sustainably designed components (architecture: LOVE architecture and urbanism ZT GmbH, Architekt Podsedensek ZT and clemens kirsch architektur): a haven of peace for relaxing and unwinding on a daily basis. The project appeals with its 274 condominiums and 238 rentals, 124 of them part of the Vienna Housing Initiative and focused on single parents, varying income classes, thus providing a social mix in the new neighbourhood of Vienna. From the end of 2022, all apartments will offer their residents spacious open areas and a considerably comfortable, natural living environment. The location near Schönbrunn with its magnificent palace park, outstanding public transport connections and diverse infrastructure also contributes to the project's exceptional level of attractiveness.

Schöneck 13: city and countryside around the corner

Bernreiterplatz in Floridsdorf provides the perfect location between a rejuvenating natural environment and the diversity of urban living. By the end of 2021, 58 privately financed condominiums featuring a balcony, loggia, terrace or private garden will be built here, as will seven privately financed maisonettes in the interior courtyard with a terrace and private garden. The "Schöneck 13" project, which will start in September, was planned by the firm schneider+schumacher Architekten ZT GmbH. The high-quality, modern apartments, each with 34 sqm to 109 sqm of floor area, are designed to meet a variety of needs: from the first shared home for young families to a peaceful retirement home. The spacious interior courtyard serves as an area to relax and meet in the interest of good relations between neighbours. The European protected area of Bisamberg and the leafy Marchfeld Canal are located nearby, as is a colourful infrastructure featuring educational institutions, shopping facilities, medical practices and restaurants.

Family-friendly neighbourhood development

By the time it is completed in summer of 2022, the large-scale "RIVUS" project will comprise approximately 800 rental apartments and condominiums. Around 500 units have already been completed and placed. Construction of "RIVUS Vivere" will begin in November, completing the complex with 302 rental apartments and additional infrastructure. Designed by PPAG architects ztgmbh, the apartments in the building are between 54 sqm and 76 sqm in size and have open areas such as balconies, terraces and private gardens. Particular importance is attached to the family-friendliness of the complex: on the premises there is a kindergarten, an ultramodern all-day elementary school with rooftop sports facilities as well as numerous play and green areas. The immediate proximity to river Liesing with its cycle and walking paths, the excellent infrastructure in the Atzgersdorf district and the convenient connection to the city centre make for an all-round attractive living environment with a high level of recreational value.
