Start of construction for "BUWOG Inside XIX" in Vienna-Döbling

  • 116 new residential units for the 19th district
  • Revitalisation of the former district office plus a new building
  • Completion planned for 2022

BUWOG Group GmbH is currently developing the project "BUWOG Inside XIX" at Gatterburggasse 12 in the 19th district of Vienna. At the site of the former district office, the old building is being revitalised and a new building added to it. A total of 116 residential units are being built: 15 apartments including a penthouse in the old building and 101 apartments in the new building. "We are pleased to have begun construction at this prominent location on Gatterburggasse. For us, the special thing about this project is first and foremost the revitalisation of the former district office building, which, together with the architectural firm Atelier Heiss, we are refurbishing in the classic style of a pre-war building as well as modernising," says Andreas Holler, managing director of BUWOG Group GmbH.


Exclusive residential comfort with high-quality fixtures and fittings

Once completed, the units of "BUWOG Inside XIX" will meet the highest standards of living – due also to the high-quality fixtures and fittings: a majority of the apartments in the pre-war building have high ceilings, double doors, herringbone oak parquet flooring and old Viennese fittings. A smart home system will also be installed. Once completed, the 128-sqm penthouse apartment on the top floor of the pre-war building will stand out with its optimal layout on two levels and impressive gabled ceiling, where on the outside the clock of the district office building could once be seen. The 101 apartments in the new building will also be equipped with a smart home system and high-quality parquet flooring and will feature open areas such as a balcony, terrace, loggia or private garden. What all residential units in the existing and new building will have in common is the smart ventilation system, auxiliary floor cooling and floor heating as well as the high-quality sanitary installations and fittings.

Andreas Holler adds: "Upon completion, the exclusivity of the project will be evident in the artistically designed foyer. It opens up the entire building and forms a visual axis for residents and guests from the entrance to the greenery of the interior courtyard, which is already visible at this point. In addition, the residents will enjoy the benefits of the building's own fitness area."


Housing in a top location

The location has very good connections to Vienna's public transportation network. Tram line 38 stops directly at Gatterburggasse and connects Vienna's first district (the Schottentor-Universität stop) directly with Grinzing. Tram line 37 also takes you from the city centre to Gatterburggasse and after only a few stops to the sports facilities at Hohe Warte and Döblinger Bad. Both tram lines provide direct access to the Vienna underground network. The nearest underground station is less than a ten-minute walk away at the Wien-Spittelau station (U4, U6 as well as various city and regional trains). The entrances to Vienna's main thoroughfares and city motorways are just a few minutes away by car. In addition, the project has an underground car park with 119 parking spaces (some equipped with charging stations) on three underground levels.
