  • Distinction for the successful integration of BUWOG into parent company Vonovia as well as for the expansion and growth of development at BUWOG in Austria and Germany
  • Riedl on Austria's most important real estate award: "Enormous honour and recognition for the entire BUWOG team"

At an exclusive gala night on 24 September 2020 at Kursalon Hübner and in compliance with strict COVID-19 safety regulations, Daniel Riedl, CDO of the German group Vonovia SE responsible for all BUWOG operations in Austria as well as for BUWOG's development in Germany, was presented with the Caesar Award, the most important prize in the Austrian real estate industry, in the category "Caesar International".

This confirms the commitment of BUWOG, which continues to advance project development in Germany and is the leading full-service provider in the residential property sector in Austria. With the award, Riedl prevailed over other renowned candidates for the prize.

Significant development in the German-speaking world

After the takeover of BUWOG by German group Vonovia SE, Daniel Riedl joined the Executive Board as CDO and has been responsible for all BUWOG operations in Austria and development in Germany since 2018. The integration of BUWOG into Europe's leading residential property was successfully completed in both countries, and important targets, such as the expansion of the new construction pipeline in Germany to now around 12,000 residential units and in Austria to currently around 6,300 residential units, was also achieved in 2019/2020.

"Last year, we were able to successfully carry out challenging projects together that allow us to merge and grow, thus the award tonight is not just for me alone, but is a major recognition for the entire BUWOG team in Austria and Germany, which has played a significant role in the development and success of the company," a proud Daniel Riedl says about the award.

In addition to the industry associations FIABCI, ÖVI, RICS, Salon Real and the Association of Real Estate and Asset Trustees of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO), the Caesar Award was once again conferred this year by a high-profile jury of experts for outstanding services in the real estate business. The jury of associations selected three finalists each from eight categories from the large number of nominations admitted.
