These memberships and awards document our affiliation with these organizations and the respective evaluation or recognition based on their criteria. They do not constitute a general endorsement of all of BUWOG’s achievements or characteristics, but they do reflect our commitment to transparency and responsible conduct:

Involvement in sustainability and climate protection initiatives
BUWOG is involved in various organizations and initiatives that focus, among other things, on responsible business practices, climate and environmental issues, and the further development of the real estate industry.
The respective memberships and partnerships pertain to the specifically named organizations and programs. Statements regarding goals, commitments, and certifications are based on the respective requirements and conditions of the relevant initiative or certification system.
- respAct is Austria’s leading business platform for responsible business practices. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plays a particularly important role in this context: respAct discusses and provides information on companies’ responsibility for their impact on society, as well as on ways to contribute to the country’s sustainable development.
- BUWOG is a founding member of the klimaaktiv Pact (an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation, and Technology (BMK)) and, as part of this partnership, is working to meet the climate goals and requirements agreed upon therein. We have voluntarily, yet bindingly, committed to collectively reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 57% by 2030 (compared to 2005). This target thus goes far beyond the national climate protection goal. Further information on the partnership and the specific objectives can be found on the respective initiative’s website. The data on greenhouse gas reductions refer to the specifically defined target, the specified base period, and the calculation methodology established within the framework of the initiative.
- Since 2021, electricity from renewable energy sources has been supplied to BUWOG’s Austrian locations. Information on the specific source of the electricity and the supporting documentation can be found here.
Certified buildings and projects
Individual BUWOG buildings and projects have been evaluated and certified according to the criteria of independent certification bodies. If a property has been awarded an ÖGNI or klimaaktiv certificate, the certification applies exclusively to the specifically named building or project and to the criteria in effect at the time of certification and the respective scope of certification.
In addition, selected new construction projects have received international awards.
