Our goal is to systematically incorporate environmental considerations into the planning, construction, and management of real estate and to continuously refine our measures and processes.

BUWOG is a partner in the “klimaaktiv” pact of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions, and Water Management. As part of this partnership, BUWOG pursues defined goals to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.

As part of our ISO 9001-compliant quality management system, we continuously review and improve our processes. In doing so, we also take into account – depending on the area of application – aspects of energy efficiency and resource use.

In older buildings, energy consumption for heating and hot water – depending on the year of construction, building design, building systems, and occupancy patterns – may be higher than in newer buildings. That is why we modernize and renovate selected residential complexes – for example, by improving thermal insulation and replacing outdated heating systems – to reduce energy consumption for heating and hot water compared to the original condition.
